iPhone FW 2.0 Allows Photo Saving in Safari

According to our friends over at Gizmodo, the latest seeded beta version of the 2.0 IPSW adds a much sought after addition to the feature list: Saving Photos from Safari! According to the tipster all you have to do is tap and hold on the image for a little bit longer than usual, and the dialogue will pop up asking you if you want to save (as seen in the photo above). This could be used for so many things, like saving backgrounds or contact images. I have a feeling that a lot of people will be using it for Le Porn, though. (sick bastards)

Did you pay the $99 to be able to get the Firmware with each new beta update? If not, you wouldn’t be able to get this feature.

I haven’t been offered such a thing? The only thing i’ve payed £13.99 (about $30?) for the update giving us Mail, Notes, Weather, Stocks etc.

Well then you don’t get this feature yet. This is exclusive to the newest 2.0 (1.2) firmware. The only way to get that firmware is to either pay $99 to become an official developer for the SDK, or to download the firmware illegally and use PwnageTool to get it onto your iPod.
